A certified company secretary are required in public and private sectors, financial institutions, banks, corporate law boards, various government agencies, and the Department of Company Affairs.
Course Structure
This course is designed in three parts: CSEET, Executive and Professional. To be certified this course also demands a 24-month articleship and practical training.
The CS Executive Entrance Test, the initial stage of the CS program, consists of four papers and can be completed in four months by a dedicated student.

Exam Pattern & Pass Percentages:
Exams are held in four windows — January, May, July, and November, requiring aminimum of 40% in individual subjects and 50% in aggregate. The assessments include objective type questions and viva voce, evaluating written, oral, and listening skills.
Qualification Required to JoinCSEET Classes:
Any student who has passed Plus Two (10+2) can join for this course in parallel to their other academic pursuits.

Once qualified, one can promptly move on to CS Executive.

Qualification Required to Join CA Intermediate Classes:
Any student who has cleared CSEET, ICAI/ICMAI final exam cleared pupils, or any graduate can enroll for the executive level.
What Next?
After clearing the CS Executive level, the next steps include a 1- month Executive Development Program (EDP) and 21 months of practical training. Following this, you can proceed to the final level of CS (Professional).
The Professional course, the third tier of the CS program, consists of seven papers in 2 modules with electives and can be completed in a year by a dedicated student.

Qualification Required to Join CS Final Classes:
Any student who has cleared CS (Executive), 1 month of Executive Development Program (EDP) and has started their 21 months of practical training can go for the CS (Professional) level.
What Next?
Once you have qualified for the CS Professional level, your next step is to go for the Corporate Leadership Development Program (CLDP) of 2 months duration.
FAQ
Can a non-commerce student pursue a CS Course?
Yes, a student can register for CSEET after clearing/appearing in the senior secondary (10+2) examination (either from commerce or any other stream).
Can a student appearing for graduation final year exam register directly for the Executive Program?
No, provisional admissions are not allowed for the Executive Programme. Only upon completion of graduation with a minimum of 50%, can a student enroll directly for the Executive Programme.
What is the frequency of CS Examinations?
Every year, CSEET examinations are held four times a year in January, May, July, and November. Whereas the CS exams for Executive and Professional are held in June and December.
What is the validity of CSEET registration?
CSEET registration is valid for one attempt only. A student is required to register for CSEET every time he/she appears for the exam. However, there are no restrictions on the number of attempts.
For how long does CS Executive and Professional Programme registration remain valid?
The registration to the regular stage of CS Course (consisting of Executive & Professional Programme) is valid for a period of five years from the month of registration in Executive Programme. Students whose registration gets expired on completion of a five-year period shall be required to get the validity of registration renewed till passing the Professional Programme Stage.
What is the age limit to pursue the CS course?
Candidates should be above 17 years of age before CS Executive exam as per the eligibility criteria prescribed by ICSI. However, there is no maximum age limit to apply for CS programme. It must be noted that a person is eligible for the Associate Membership of the Institute only after attaining 21 years of age. In short, no one can attain the CS Degree before 21 years of age, though he/she can appear and pass the exams.
What is the salary of a CS?
As a fresher a company Secretary salary in India ranges between ₹ 2 Lakhs to ₹ 4 Lakhs per annum and an experienced individual can earn up to ₹ 22 – 30 Lakhs per annum.
