Candidate must present proof of their identity to be permitted to take the CMA Exams. Below is a list of acceptable identification. You must present one primary ID or two secondary IDs to be permitted to take the exams. All identification must be original. Photocopies and/or electronic downloads are not acceptable.

One can work as a Finance Manager, Financial Analyst, Cost Analyst, Financial Controller,
Internal Auditor, Relationship Manager, Cost Manager, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Cost
Accountant.

The candidates have the scope of earning about 67 percent more as compared to the ones possessing only a bachelor’s degree. As a fresher, they may earn up to 4.8 lakhs per annum and with experience one can earn around 40-50 lakh per annum.

The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA to enable mutual recognition and cooperation between the two institutes to develop the profession of Management Accountancy for the benefit of their members and students in the pursuit of excellence in education and training and continuing professional development in Management Accountancy.

CMA is an international certification and is an industry integrated curriculum which examines a student at all levels of testing. CMA exams require Level C coverage, i.e., following cognitive skills: Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis and Evaluation

No, you can take parts 1 and 2 in any order. You have the option of taking both together on the same day, although many members choose to separate their testing dates.

All CMA candidates have three years to pass both parts of the exam. The time period will begin with the date of your entry into the CMA program.

You will lose any previous passed scores and will need to register for the exam again.

An exam part may be taken only once in a testing window. You can sit for as many testing windows as you need in your three-year period. All retakes require a new exam registration (not CMA entrance), along with payment of appropriate fees.

Student Membership

  • To qualify for this membership type, you must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours at a college or university
  • Only full-time UG and PG attending regular classes are eligible for student membership Online and Distance modes of study are not covered under the student category.
  • A full-time student can hold the student membership for a maximum of six (6) years.

Professional Membership

  • Working professionals who are on a career path as an accountant or financial manager qualify for Professional membership.

The CMA Scholarship opportunity can be offered to up to 10 students per school per year who are interested in pursuing CMA certification. This includes both undergraduate and graduate students in accredited accounting or business programs. Multiple faculty members can submit nominations, but the limit is 10 per school, per academic year.
