Chartered Accountancy Course Structure

The CA course is divided into three levels: CA Foundation, CA Intermediate and CA Final Level. Students are additionally required to complete a 3-year articleship to be certified.

Chartered Accountancy – Foundation Level

The Foundation course is the first tier of CA-India course and has 4 papers. The CA Foundation course can be completed in four months by an enthusiastic student.

Paper 3: Business Mathematics and Logical Reasoning & Statistics

Exam Pattern & Pass Percentages

The exams are conducted in the months of May and November every year. One has to secure a minimum of 40% in individual subjects and 50% in aggregate. LSM students has always secured higher pass percentages than the national average; this feat is achieved only because of the result oriented and highly professional teaching staff of LSM and their impeccable teaching methods.

Qualification Required to Join CA Foundation Classes

Any student who has passed Plus Two (10+2) can join for this course in parallel to their other academic pursuits. A basic affinity towards learning accounting principles would be an added advantage.

Once qualified in CA Foundation Course, one can immediately join for CA Intermediate course.

CA-Foundation @ LSM

Qualification Required to Join CA Intermediate Classes

Any student who has completed CA (Foundation) OR any graduate (55% from commerce background and 60% from non-commerce background) can enroll for the intermediate level. Basic knowledge and interest in the accounting, finance and auditing stream would be helpful to complete the course within the schedule with good pass percentages.

What Next?

A qualified CA Intermediate candidate is always preferred for several management accounting profiles and numerous job opportunities awaits them in almost all MNC’s in India. It is however, recommended to continue with the a 4-week long ICITSS training, 3 year articleship and the CA Final course which would open up greater opportunities and the title of a CA holder in India and abroad.

CA-Intermediate @ LSM

Any student who has completed CA (Intermediate) in addition to four weeks of ICITSS (Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills) before the commencement of practical training can enroll for this level. The students must also complete 2.5 years of articleship before registering for the CA Final exams.
