Qualification & Requirements for CIA

Any graduate from a recognized university can join this course, preferably with a basic knowledge in finance and accounting principles. In order to obtain certification, the course demands two-year work experience for graduates and one-year work experience for postgraduates.

A year! In the management accounting and financial management stream, CIA course is one of the few professional certifications program of international repute which can be completed in almost a year with dedicated efforts.

A student can appear for the exam as and when he/she feels confident enough about the knowledge acquired. As it is a Computer Based Test (CBT), IIA has not fixed any particular schedule for CIA exam. The passing percentages of LSM students are always much higher than the global average and has produced many rank holders to become Certified Internal Auditors. Although the course can be completed in a year, a student can appear for the exam within four years after the enrollment. The IIA-Indian chapter manages the internal auditor certification programs in India.

This course is defined in three parts as mentioned below and will have corresponding exams. Multiple Choice Questions without negative marking would be there for each exam.

⁂ Part I exam will have 125 Multiple Choice Questions. Exam duration is of 2.5 Hours.
